ABOUT DEBORAH

Deborah is Haida Indian and was suppose to be  a New Year's day baby.  But, she wanted to be born on Alaska Statehood Day, January 3rd.

Her great grandfathers John Wallace and Dwight Wallace were Haida Chiefs, and famous Totem Pole carvers.

Her family lived with Charles Willis Jr., President, and CEO of Alaska Airlines prior to moving to Alaska in 1976. Charles Willis Jr. recruited Dwight Eisenhower to run for President.,

On Jan. 3, 1959, President Dwight Eisenhower signed a proclamation admitting Alaska to the Union as the 49th state.  Deborah was born on Alaska statehood day.

Deborah's brother was born on Seward's day.

Deborah's parents were married 49 years at her mom's passing.

Deborah worked in the Hickel administration working for the Health and Social Services Commissioner Dr. Ted Mala where it was a mandate that we treated anyone who walked through a state office as the Governor.  It was an honor to serve Alaskans.  I was a public servant.
